A Dream Called Celestium...

I think Celestium always existed in my mind. Of course, at the beginning it had no name; it was simply that...a dream. But a dream based on the fact that we are creatures created in the image and likeness of the Supreme Creator and with a soul and eternal spirit that, therefore, transcends this human clothing called body. Therefore, if we believe in eternal life and we know we have a casing that keeps our soul, this casing should be treated with dignity.

Many years ago I heard a tale, I’m not sure whether it was a fable or a story, but I believe it will make you rethink as it did me.

“Once upon a time, a rich merchant from the orient who dealt with jewelry and precious stones, acquired from a humble fisherman a pearl of unequalled size and color, never before seen. The marvelous pearl was the envy and admiration of all and his friends would tell him: ‘Sell the pearl and you will be the richest man in the region.’ But the merchant, smarter that most, decided to exhibit the marvelous jewel in his store, for which he built a luxurious display. People would visit his store to see the great pearl, and the merchant multiplied his sales because the possession of such a great jewel deserved him great commercial reputation.”

“One night, the great pearl was stolen and as much as he searched and offered rewards, he was never able to recover it. Afflicted, watching his reputation and sales diminishing, he had another great idea: He decided to exhibit the mother-of-pearl, the jewel’s case.”

It immediately dawn on me that this was very much like the funeral industry; they trade with the container, with the great pearl’s case.

With my convictions stronger than ever, I needed a name to go with such a sublime motivation...and what better name than one that implied respect, dignity, and simplicity at the same time. Heaven is something we all refer to as simple, while at the same time superior. The word Celestium came about while trying to interpret a Latin writing...he was born in Celestium (the celestial) and our logo “the Star of Bethlehem.”
